Reserving and reporting cycle

Closer to a reserving cycle role than a modelling-heavy internship because quarterly monitoring and standard loss-development work define the rhythm.

P&C reinsurance reserving internship with Munich Re’s Corporate Reserving team, based in New York City or Princeton, NJ. You’ll support segment analysis, technical checks, large-loss research, loss development selections, quarterly monitoring, and department presentations while learning how reserving works in reinsurance.

Requirements

Must have

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Risk Management, or equivalent program in healthy academic standing
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without requiring employer sponsorship

Strongly preferred

  • Successful completion of one CAS/SOA exam
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken & written, formal/informal presentation)
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities – clear-thinking, curiosity, integrity, and drive
  • Enthusiasm about learning new knowledge and working in the reinsurance industry
