Role type

People leader for a DB team

Closer to people leadership than a technical individual-contributor role because team performance and staff development are the primary measures of success.

Manager-level Retirement actuarial role leading a Defined Benefit team remotely from within the United States, with travel to Houston 3-4 times per year. You will manage 10-15 actuaries and DB specialists, oversee client service and process improvement, and handle complex ERISA and plan administration issues.

Requirements

Must have

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer
  • Must work from within the United States

Strongly preferred

  • 10+ years retirement plan industry experience
  • 5+ years supervisory/management experience in retirement plans
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS code, and nondiscrimination testing
  • Ability to interpret pre-approved and individually designed plan documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through others and coach technical staff

Nice to have

  • Relevant retirement plan credentials (preferred)
