Closer to people leadership than a pricing partner role because direct supervision, team development, hiring, and department direction are core requirements.
Director-level P&C actuarial pricing role in San Diego, California, with a hybrid work arrangement. You will advise the Chief Actuary, own actuarial responsibility across multiple lines of business, support pricing and product expansion, and lead a team of credentialed actuaries and analysts.
Requirements
Must have
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- Minimum 7 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination
- ACAS or FCAS designation
- Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
Strongly preferred
- Degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience managing complex projects, resources, and staff
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven leadership ability
- Thorough knowledge of actuarial models and ability to assess results
- Broad company and industry experience and expertise
- Ability to work collaboratively with other business leaders to solve complex problems
- Ability to mentor and train actuarial staff
- Ability to take actuarial ownership of significant segments, including multiple lines of business
- Ability to influence the strategic vision of the actuarial department
