Closer to a capital and risk strategy role than a pure pricing partner because risk adjustment, financial sustainability, governance, and executive decision support span the remit.

Director-level Health actuarial and risk management role with Sharp Health Plan in a hybrid US setting. You will lead commercial health pricing, underwriting, risk adjustment, forecasting, regulatory support, and financial analytics, while advising executives and managing actuarial, underwriting, and risk adjustment staff.

Requirements

Must have

  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
  • Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related quantitative field
  • 8 Years progressive health actuarial experience including pricing, forecasting, underwriting, risk adjustment, financial analytics
  • 5 Years leadership or management experience with accountability for professional staff, complex work products, cross-functional initiatives, and strategic business decisions
  • 3 Years experience supporting commercial health plan products, rate development, underwriting, pricing, and regulatory filings
  • 3 Years experience preparing, reviewing, or overseeing actuarial analyses, financial forecasts, regulatory exhibits, actuarial models, or actuarial certifications

Nice to have

  • 3 Years experience with ACA risk adjustment, CMS programs, provider risk arrangements, capitation, value-based payment models, or delegated-risk operations
  • Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
