Role type

Structured actuarial student programme

Closer to a structured student programme than a modelling-heavy IC role because the work is mentor-guided, time-limited, and includes formal development activities.

Paid ten-week Health actuarial internship in Chicago, IL or Richardson, TX. You’ll support reserving, forecasting, provider payment modeling, data compilation, database work, and reporting while using Excel, SQL, and VBA. The program includes a mentor, formal orientation, networking, workshops, and a final presentation to department leadership.

Requirements

Must have

  • Pursuing bachelor's degree; rising senior in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, computer science, or economics
  • Completion of or plans to complete 1 ASA exam by graduation
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Available for full duration of 10-week program
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States (no sponsorship)
  • Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028

Strongly preferred

  • Previous internship experience
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Practical technical skills with Excel, SQL, and VBA
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, collaborative mindset
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration tools
