Closer to a capital and risk strategy role than a pure pricing partner because reinsurance, capital protection, and counterparty risk sit alongside product pricing.

Executive Director, Life Pricing and Reinsurance role based in San Antonio, TX or Charlotte, NC. You will lead pricing strategy for life, health, and annuity products, oversee reinsurance initiatives, manage capital and counterparty risk, and lead a sizeable actuarial function. The hybrid schedule requires four days in the office, with a disclosed salary range of $195,230-$351,410.

Requirements

Must have

  • 12+ years of industry experience with recent experience pricing annuity products as reinsurer or direct writer
  • 10+ years of progressive actuarial experience in two or more life actuarial functions
  • 4 years of people leadership experience
  • FSA designation
  • No visa sponsorship available
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or other quantitative field, or 4 years of additional related experience
  • Knowledge of pricing tools, techniques, and methods; ability to assess analytical and pricing models using statistical principles
  • Member, American Academy of Actuaries (implied as FSA)

Strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of risk/compliance management framework and policies
  • Knowledge of applicable annuity laws and regulations in the US and experience with Bermuda regulatory framework
  • Experience partnering with investment team to optimize asset allocations to address competitive pressures
  • Experience pricing living benefits and navigating distribution conflict
