Health and benefits actuarial manager role in New York, supporting employer medical, dental, life, disability, and voluntary benefit programs in a hybrid consulting environment. You will build financial analyses, model plan designs and funding strategies, communicate findings to clients, and help lead projects across client teams. The role asks for 5+ years of relevant experience and requires a State Life and Health license within 90 days.

Requirements

Must have

  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining

Strongly preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in professional services
  • Experience ideally in benefit consulting/brokerage or health underwriting/actuarial function
  • Advanced knowledge of health and welfare products & services
  • Advanced knowledge of underwriting and funding concepts
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and produce quality deliverables
  • Desire and ability to expand relationships with clients
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve issues with limited information
  • Polished written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical, creative and integrative skills
  • Ability to direct work of more junior colleagues and provide feedback
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Relevant financial experience and/or university degree

Nice to have

  • Experience with big data analytic techniques
