Role Summary

Role type

Pricing partner to underwriting

Closer to a pricing-underwriting partner than a modelling-heavy IC because carrier conversations and underwriting decisions are central despite substantial model ownership.

Senior P&C actuarial role with Kinetic’s Actuarial & Analytics team, focused on workers’ compensation pricing, portfolio monitoring, and predictive model stewardship. You’ll own actuarial indications, SQL-based data work, and GLM/GBM validation while influencing underwriting and carrier decisions. The role is remote across the United States, with domestic travel for company offsites.

Requirements

Must have

  • ACAS required (or near-credential with final exams in progress)
  • SQL proficiency required
  • Must reside within the US with existing authorization to work

Strongly preferred

  • Active exam and/or continuing-education progress expected
  • 5–10 years of actuarial experience in P&C insurance
  • Workers’ compensation or commercial lines experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to present actuarial findings to underwriting, finance, or carrier partners
  • Strong Excel and actuarial modeling skills
  • Python or R experience preferred
  • Comfort with ambiguous, evolving data environments
  • High-ownership mentality; able to hold a deliverable end-to-end
  • Clear communicator who can translate actuarial findings for non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment where processes are still being built

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in an MGA, insurtech, or specialty carrier environment
  • Familiarity with GLM/GBM model development and validation
