Closer to a carrier specialist than a pricing-underwriting partner because the ad emphasizes internal model and profitability analysis rather than live deal negotiation.
Entry-level Life actuarial pricing role on USAA’s Life Company Annuity Pricing Team, based in San Antonio, Plano, or Charlotte with four office days per week. You’ll support pricing and profitability analysis for fixed, indexed, and immediate annuities, plus structured settlements, using actuarial models and data analysis.
Requirements
Must have
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant education/experience
- Up to 2 years of relevant business or analytical experience
- 2 Society of Actuaries exams completed
- Understanding and experience applying data analysis and actuarial techniques
- Must not require visa sponsorship (now or in the future)
Strongly preferred
- Experience pricing annuities or life insurance using AXIS or similar pricing software
- Experience building analytical tools using Excel VBA, Python, SQL, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong aptitude for problem solving
