Closer to client-facing consulting than a modelling-heavy internal role, because client ownership, proposals and varied insurer engagements are central.
Senior Life actuarial consulting role in Johannesburg or Cape Town, supporting insurers and reinsurers across South African and international markets. You’ll lead complex projects spanning reserving, pricing, capital, IFRS 17, SAM/Solvency II, ERM and ORSA, while managing teams, clients and business development. The role suits a FASSA with 7+ years of Life Insurance experience.
Requirements
Strongly preferred
- 7+ years professional experience in Life Insurance actuarial consulting or corporate role
- FASSA designation
- Experience in financial reporting (SAM/Solvency II and IFRS17) and actuarial modelling
- Exposure to data analytics, coding (Python/R), and AI frameworks
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management experience
- Critical thinker, solution-oriented, proactive, self-starter
- Located in or willing to relocate to Johannesburg or Cape Town
