Closer to a modelling role than a capital strategy position—the ad emphasises technical treaty models and assumptions rather than enterprise-wide risk decisions.

Life and health reinsurance actuarial opportunity in Toronto, with a hybrid work arrangement. You will model protection and longevity treaty business, including cash flows, reserving and capital, while supporting assumptions, portfolio analysis and client propositions.

Requirements

Strongly preferred

  • Qualified Actuary or working towards a designation with a recognized professional body
  • Actuarial Science or related degree
  • Experience in Actuarial, Analytical Pricing or Modelling work
  • Experience in Life (re-)insurance or Consulting
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to work on complex problems
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities effectively
  • High degree of accountability
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communicator
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-identification and resolution skills with attention to detail
  • High degree of personal competence (self-awareness, self-management)

Nice to have

  • Experience in statistical software (e.g. R, SAS) or AXIS modeling software
