Remote Health actuarial manager role based in Long Beach, California. You will lead actuarial staff, oversee pricing, reserving, predictive analytics and reporting work, perform medical cost and trend studies, and support rate filings, financial projections and other business projects.
Requirements
Must have
At least 7 years of actuarial experience
At least 1 year of management/leadership experience
Strongly preferred
ASA and MAAA designations
Bachelor's degree in actuarial, mathematics, statistics, economics or related field
Subject matter expertise in at least one actuarial function (pricing, reserving, risk adjustment, analytics, modeling)
Ability to justify actuarial judgements with well-supported arguments
Ability to provide insights to leadership based on actuarial review
Advanced understanding of statistics/predictive analytics
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Strong critical-thinking and attention to detail
Strong time-management skills and ability to manage simultaneous projects
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
