[ The Biometric Research team is seeking a Manager & Actuary. This position is responsible for working with the Biometric Research team to lead client mortality experience studies, assist with mortality and policyholder behavior-related research, and work to strengthen and deepen client relationships with Munich Re clients

Your Job:

  • Manage a team of 1-3 students responsible for completing client experience studies
  • Complete mortality studies and conversions related to pricing inforce and new business quotes as required and review work of other associates on the team
  • Conduct research of key trends in both US and Canadian mortality, morbidity and persistency; and support reporting, analysis and research into company's experience
  • Support quote reviews as needed
  • Assist with the development of marketing materials that promotes Munich Re as a subject matter expert in industry mortality topics
  • Manages resourcing as well as timelines and deliverables for quotes and projects
  • Ensures all direct reports have a clear understanding of corporate and departmental objectives
  • Provides challenging tasks and assignments and holds frequent development discussions with employees to provide career growth and development


Your Profile:

  • FSA required
  • University degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics
  • Strong people management and mentorship skills.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with clients and co-workers
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem solving and organization skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility and effectiveness working under tight timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Proficient designing and using spreadsheets/tables to perform computations and analysis
  • Able to manage a number of diverse projects
  • Advanced Software/application knowledge including - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SQL.

For New York City based employees, the base salary range anticipated for this position is $174,351 to $192,704 plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
