[ Reporting into the 2nd VP & Actuary, this position supports the Group department in pricing new business and renewals to ensure compliance with all Munich global policies, corporate pricing requirements, and department profit goals. This includes maintenance and use of pricing models and tools for Group Life, LTD, Credit reinsurance business, and potentially other new products. In this role, you will assist with specific business cases, product development, and innovation projects to execute Group business strategy of growing the overall Group reinsurance market and assist with consultative actuarial service projects for clients. You will also provide analysis of Group business experience, financial reporting, and context from the industry to assist in setting and executing the Munich US Group business unit strategy.

Your Job

Group Reinsurance Pricing
  • Provide pricing analysis and documentation for Group reinsurance quotes.
  • Provide development, documentation and governance of pricing models, assumptions and rates.
  • Verify pricing compliance with corporate profit goals and methods (VNB, ERC, IRR, RoRAC, profit margin, etc.)
  • Provide product, financial, and risk management support
  • Work proficiently with data files and database software.


Product Development and Research
  • Assist in product development initiatives and research projects.


Your Profile

  • Bachelors degree in Statistics, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Mathematics, Actuarial Science
  • 5-7 years of Actuarial experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry
  • FSA or near-FSA
  • Technical actuarial pricing and product development skills
  • Product skills - knowledge of products and the ability to stay current on pertinent topics affecting the industry
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Access, Word, etc.) and database tools
  • Knowledge of statistical programming packages such at @Risk, Matlab, R, etc.
