Role Summary

Role type

Capital and market risk strategist

Closer to capital/risk strategy than a modelling-heavy IC role—the models support enterprise market-risk governance and ALM decisions, not just technical build work.

Senior Life actuarial role in MetLife’s Global Risk Management organization in Whippany, New Jersey. You’ll manage and advance replicating portfolio and ALM models, assess market risk across GAAP, Statutory and Economic views, and apply Python, automation, and AI/ML to support risk decisions.

Requirements

Must have

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Hybrid role with minimum 3 days per week in office

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative field
  • ASA or FSA designation
  • Strong modeling and programming skills (Excel, Python, VBA, R, C++)
  • Deep knowledge of statistics, optimization, valuation, AI/ML
  • 5+ years of experience

Nice to have

  • Intermediate understanding of insurance risk management and ALM, derivatives, insurance products, investments
  • Experience with Statutory accounting and solvency reporting
  • Experience of process automation
