Closer to an underwriting partnership role than a modelling-heavy IC role because program oversight and business influence sit alongside technical analysis.
Senior Life actuarial role in Boston focused on pricing, product support, profitability, and emerging experience for retail life insurance. You’ll partner with Underwriting, Medical, and New Business teams, evaluate underwriting programs, analyze VNB and other profitability metrics, and support product assumptions and pricing decisions.
Requirements
Strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- ASA designation
- 5+ years of actuarial experience in pricing, experience studies or related
- 1+ years of experience with life insurance products
- 2+ years of experience with actuarial models
Nice to have
- FSA designation
- Experience with accelerated underwriting programs
- Experience with Power BI, experience studies and data management
- Life insurance pricing experience and exposure to coding/programming
- Ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences at all levels
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to use a disciplined work approach
- Ability to work cross-functionally and reconcile competing priorities
- Sound business judgment and ability to handle change and pressure
