Pricing partner to underwriting
Closer to an underwriting partnership than a modelling-heavy IC role—the work is judged by program oversight and business decisions as well as analytical output.
Senior Life actuary role in Springfield, MA, supporting individual life pricing, product management, underwriting oversight, and profitability analytics. You’ll partner with Underwriting, Medical, and New Business teams, evaluate emerging experience, and support decisions using VNB, IRR, profit margins, scenario analysis, and business KPIs.
Requirements
Strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- ASA designation
- 5+ years actuarial experience in pricing, experience studies, or related functions
- 1+ years experience working with life insurance products
- 2+ years experience with actuarial models
- FSA designation
- Ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences at all levels
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to document complex issues, methodologies, and resolutions clearly
- Ability to work cross-functionally to reconcile competing priorities
Nice to have
- Experience with accelerated underwriting programs
- Power BI experience
- Experience studies and data management experience
- Life insurance pricing experience
- Coding/programming exposure
