Associate P&C actuarial role in commercial property pricing and CAT modelling, based in New York with a hybrid schedule of 3 to 5 office days weekly. Requirements

Must have

  • At least 2 years of dedicated property pricing or modeling work

Strongly preferred

  • ACAS designation preferred but not required
  • Real property modeling experience including loss development, trend, frequency/severity, CAT load integration, layer pricing
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in at least one of Python, R, or SQL
  • Use of AI tools in daily work (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude)
  • Ability to explain work without jargon to brokers and clients
  • 2+ years of actuarial work with meaningful time on property pricing or modeling
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, math, stats, or quantitative field
  • Self-starter mindset
  • Understanding of commercial property program structures, towers, TIV values
  • Experience with benchmarking, limit adequacy, and TCOR modeling in renewal conversations
  • Comfort with complex programs: layered placements, quota shares, deductibles, SIRs, captives
  • Ability to work across multiple stakeholders (brokers, practice leaders, clients, technical team)

Nice to have

  • Brokerage, reinsurance, or carrier-side property pricing experience
  • Familiarity with major CAT models (AIR, RMS) and how vendor output is used
