Closer to a recurring reserving cycle role than a capital strategy position because quarterly and annual reserve analyses drive the core rhythm.

Associate P&C reserving role in San Diego, California, supporting a specialty travel insurance business. You’ll perform quarterly and annual IFRS 17 and Solvency II reserving, forecasting, portfolio analysis, and reporting while partnering with Finance, Underwriting, Sales, and senior management. The hybrid schedule includes 2-3 office days per week.

Requirements

Must have

Bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science, economics, finance or similar
In-depth knowledge of reserving principles and financial impacts
In-depth knowledge of relational databases
In-depth knowledge of data warehouses
In-depth knowledge of Excel
In-depth knowledge of financial models
Working knowledge of predictive modeling

Strongly preferred

Completion of at least 1-3 actuarial exams
Clear communication skills

Nice to have

Knowledge of IFRS17 and Solvency2
Knowledge of PBI, SQL, R and ResQ
2+ years related actuarial experience
Experience with finance, sales, operations and executive level communications
