Location Availability: Burlington, MA

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients and colleagues by serving as a client and business leader with a focus on actuarial consulting.

There is a requirement for this role to be worked from our Burlington, MA office at least 3 days a week, due to an emphasis on leadership of local client teams and colleague development and mentorship.

Your Impact As An Associate Partner:

Successful candidates will focus primarily on working with new and existing clients on actuarial strategy for pension plans and broader consulting on retirement plans. Colleagues in this role are expected to lead key client relationships, maintain leadership of a strong local client team located in Burlington, and assist in business and office leadership. Candidates are expected to have a strong background in technical aspects of pension and retiree medical valuations and experience working in strategic project areas, including settlements, plan design, funding strategy and pension de-risking.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Leads client relationship and delivery of all services for medium to large clients
  • Ability to work through larger, more complex projects with little oversight and is responsible for the results, including explanations, presentations, and impact
  • Ability to develop materials and lead presentations on complex topics that effectively communicate with client contacts, including C-suite
  • Provide technical expertise and strategic direction on topics that affect our clients and our business
  • Proactive in both initiating and leading some discussions internally and externally
  • Attend and lead discussions at regular meetings (including fiduciary committee meetings, valuation results meetings and strategy meetings)
  • Manage client financials with a focus on profitability
  • Lead client teams, providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced colleagues
  • Review work for both technical accuracy and reasonability
  • Periodic travel necessary to support clients (generally 2-4 meetings per year)

Required Experience:
  • 8+ years of retirement actuarial work experience
  • Significant experience and expertise with pension and retiree medical plans
  • Detail oriented and strong organization skills
  • Ability to manage urgent deadlines efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication expertise
  • Ability to grow, manage and develop teams
  • Proficient MS Office software (Word, Excel and Power Point)


Education:

Academic degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or similar degree

Actuarial credentials, FSA, EA, or ASA.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $170,000-$240,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Burlington, Massachusetts. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
