Role Summary

Role type

Regulatory filing and compliance specialist

Closer to a regulatory compliance role than a pure pricing partner because filing evidence, DOI objections, and state requirements define the work.

Senior P&C actuarial role supporting insurance product filings from a fully remote US location. You will validate AI-derived property rating variables, prepare exhibits and regulatory documentation, respond to DOI objections, and advise carrier actuarial teams. The role combines predictive modelling, rate filing expertise, and customer-facing communication.

Requirements

Strongly preferred

  • 5+ years of P&C actuarial experience with exposure to pricing, ratemaking, or rate filings
  • ACAS or FCAS credential
  • Experience preparing actuarial exhibits for rate filings and responding to regulator objections
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or related field
  • Ability to explain carrier-led rate filing processes to non-actuaries
  • Comfortable with predictive model output including GLMs, gradient boosting, and validation statistics
  • Experience with large claims and exposure data using SQL, R, or Python
  • Ability to write technical documentation acceptable to regulators
  • Client-facing and steady on calls with carrier actuarial leadership

Nice to have

  • Experience at actuarial consultancy or carrier supporting rate filings across multiple states/carriers
  • Experience with catastrophe or property peril models
  • Prior regulator-side ratemaking review experience
  • Familiarity with SERFF and the practical mechanics of how filings move
