Closer to a pricing and underwriting partner than a reserving cycle role because it advises live business decisions across major lines and communicates rate recommendations broadly.

Senior P&C actuarial leadership role in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, covering pricing, reserving, and capital modeling across commercial and personal lines. You will oversee rate filings, guide actuarial staff, advise underwriting and claims, monitor regulators and rate bureaus, and communicate recommendations to senior leadership. The role is primarily onsite and pays $153,700-$211,409 per year.

Requirements

Must have

  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) required
  • Minimum of 6 years of general actuarial experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science or similar

Strongly preferred

  • Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) preferred
  • 4 years of ratemaking experience preferred
  • High level of quantitative analytical skills
  • Familiarity with property and casualty insurance accounting and finance
  • High level of proficiency in spreadsheet and database software
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements for ratemaking
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Must reside or be willing to relocate to Harrisburg PA area
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel with overnight stays
