Pricing partner to underwriting

Closer to a pricing-underwriting partnership than a reserving cycle role, because the ad prioritises live pricing strategy, product growth and underwriting guidance.

Senior P&C actuarial role in Lansing, Michigan, supporting an expanding commercial multiline portfolio. You will lead pricing strategy and product development across commercial auto, general liability, property and other lines, while also contributing to reserving, reinsurance and capital analyses. The role is office-based and requires substantial P&C experience with an ACAS/ASA or FCAS/FSA pathway.

Requirements

Must have

  • Associate designation in the CAS or SOA plus minimum 12 years P&C actuarial experience
  • FCAS/FSA designation plus minimum 8 years P&C actuarial experience

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related area
  • Expert level in Excel; proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make competent, independent decisions
  • Advanced knowledge of actuarial principles in reinsurance, reserving, ratemaking, financial reporting, capital management, underwriting, claims practices
  • Ability to perform actuarial and statistical analyses

Nice to have

  • Programming skills in SQL and/or statistical software (R, Python)
