Closer to a modelling-heavy individual contributor than a data-science crossover role because actuarial Prophet ownership, not data engineering, is the defining expertise.

Senior Life actuarial modelling role on Pacific Life’s Enterprise Modeling Team in Newport Beach, California, with additional locations in Omaha and Charlotte. You’ll lead Prophet model development and testing across life and annuity products, supporting pricing, valuation, ALM, and hedging. The role is designed for an FSA with 6+ years of actuarial modelling and coding experience and follows a four-days-on-site, one-day-remote schedule.

Requirements

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, computer science, finance, mathematics or related field
  • 4+ years actuarial experience
  • 6+ years experience in actuarial modeling and coding
  • FSA Designation
  • Heavy use of Prophet in pricing, valuation and ALM modeling
  • Self-starter with ability to develop solutions by collaborating with multiple business partners
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively and to manage long-term projects
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Nice to have

  • Experience coding in Python, Visual Basic, and SQL
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps, JIRA, pipelines, and AWS
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Prophet
  • Experience with Annuity, Institutional, and Life products
  • Experience with ALM/Hedging
  • CERA or CFA designation
