Closer to a transformation-build role than a pricing-underwriting partner because it develops global capabilities and standards rather than primarily supporting live deals.
Senior P&C actuarial role in Sompo’s Central Pricing team in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. You’ll help transform global commercial Property pricing through technical methodologies, predictive analytics, portfolio insights, reinsurance pricing, and cross-functional implementation. The role suits a qualified actuary or equivalent with 7–10 years of general insurance pricing experience.
Requirements
Must have
- 7-10 years of general insurance pricing experience
Strongly preferred
- Qualified actuary or equivalent actuarial/pricing experience
- Strong knowledge of technical pricing, pricing methodology, portfolio management, performance monitoring
- Experience working on strategic projects with multiple stakeholders, regions, or product lines
- Working knowledge of coding and data analysis tools, preferably R, Python, SQL
- Excellent technical and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across functions, regions, product lines
- Highly organized and self-motivated, able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to operate effectively in a project-based environment supporting strategic initiatives
Nice to have
- Experience supporting pricing model development, transformation, or platform implementation
- Exposure to capital modelling, reinsurance pricing, or capital/reinsurance cost allocation
