Senior Capital Analyst

American National is actively hiring a full-time, Senior Capital Analyst. The position is a critical role in the organization as you will be a dedicated capital subject matter resource who will maintain various capital models, analyze model output, and assist in making capital decisions. You will be one of the crucial members of the broader finance team. To be successful in the position, you should have experience with financial statements, financial modeling, proficiency in Excel, and quantitative interest.

Placement Location: Downtown Houston, Texas

What you will do:
Prepare capital reporting files for regulatory capital (RBC) and rating agency capital models (S&P, Fitch, and A.M. Best), and conduct attribution analyses under different capital frameworks
Collaborate with various teams and help build/maintain capital planning and forecasting processes
Assist with capital allocation and optimization among lines of business
Follow industry trends and developments that may impact the organization in relation to its capital position and return on equity
Analyze capital implications of various initiatives across the organization

Bachelor's degree (Concentration in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or other relevant areas, preferred)
Intermediate understanding and experience of insurance products and financial statements
A professional with combined relevant experience in the following areas: financial services, capital management, and financial modeling
Proficiency in Excel

Beneficial to have, not required:
Experience in a finance function where responsibilities included budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling
Actuarial designations, CPA or CFA
