Client-facing actuarial advisory leader

Closer to consulting client-facing than a modelling-heavy IC role—the work spans engagements, senior-client advice, team leadership and origination.

Senior Manager actuarial advisory role in EY’s Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services practice, based in Hartford with a hybrid model. You’ll lead complex engagements for life, health, annuity and related insurance clients, advising senior stakeholders on modeling, reporting, transformation, reinsurance and capital topics.

Requirements

Must have

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant actuarial experience
  • Experience leading people and/or complex projects
  • FSA or comparable actuarial credential
  • Deep knowledge of US life, health, and/or annuity products
  • Demonstrated depth in at least one actuarial advisory discipline
  • Strong writing, presentation, analytical, project management and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel 10-30%

Strongly preferred

  • Experience across one or more actuarial domains (modeling, audit, financial reporting, transformation, reinsurance, capital management)
  • Knowledge of reporting frameworks (U.S. statutory, GAAP, LDTI, IFRS 17)
  • Experience with long-term care or other health and protection products
  • Familiarity with modeling platforms (AXIS, Prophet, Integrate) or tools such as Python or R
  • Experience originating work and building long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders
