Role type

Pricing partner to underwriting

Closer to a live-business underwriting partner than a modelling-heavy role because pricing judgment and business profitability discussions are central.

Senior Health pricing role supporting Zurich North America's Accident & Health business in Overland Park, Kansas, with other office options. You will lead pricing for new and renewal business, develop rating strategies and filings, analyze reserves, and advise underwriters and business partners on profitability across supplemental health and accident products.

Requirements

Strongly preferred

  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associates Degree
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial Sciences
  • 5 or more years of actuarial experience (with FCAS/FSA)
  • FCAS/FSA or equivalent international certification
  • 10 or more years of actuarial experience (with ACAS/ASA)
  • ACAS/ASA or equivalent international certification

Nice to have

  • Previous experience on product development, pricing, filing and experience monitoring of Accident & Health business
  • Team leadership experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate and partner with the business
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical analysis results to non-technical audiences
  • Collaboration experience on cross-functional team projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel or statistical analysis software and dashboard development
