Pricing partner to underwriting

Closer to a live-deal underwriting partner than a capital strategy role because the actuary helps shape client transactions and presents deal economics.

Senior P&C pricing role in AXIS Capital’s North American Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) casualty team, based in New York, Chicago, or Alpharetta. You’ll price and structure bespoke casualty transactions, assess capital and tail risk, monitor portfolio performance, and advise underwriting, brokers, clients, and senior management.

Requirements

Must have

FCAS or equivalent

Strongly preferred

8-12+ years of actuarial experience
Proven experience in pricing complex/non-standard risks
Deep understanding of casualty lines (general liability, excess casualty, workers' compensation)
Proficiency in Python, R, or SAS
Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities
Experience with simulation techniques (e.g., Monte Carlo)
Familiarity with insurance accounting, reserving, and capital frameworks

Nice to have

Experience with capital modeling, stochastic techniques, or financial structuring
