Actuarial people leadership

Closer to people leadership than a pricing-underwriting partner role because coordinating staff and developing direct reports are explicit parts of the remit.

Senior Staff Health Actuary role supporting Medicare pricing and reserve-setting in New York, NY. You’ll analyze block performance, improve rate structures, oversee regulatory rate filings, and coordinate actuarial staff while partnering with Product Management, Finance, and Risk Adjustment.

Requirements

Must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • ASA designation
  • 10+ years of relevant professional work experience
  • 6+ years actuarial experience with ASA or 5+ with FSA
  • 5+ years health insurance actuarial experience
  • 1+ year of management experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of actuarial principles and methodologies
  • Knowledge of reimbursement methodologies
  • Ability to develop actionable reports for senior management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office and data extraction/simulations/automation

Strongly preferred

  • Managed care industry experience

Nice to have

  • MAAA membership
  • FSA designation
