Senior Health Actuary Consultant role in Mercer's Health Actuarial and Financial Consulting team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. You will lead employer health benefits engagements involving financial projections, plan design, underwriting support, and renewal negotiations, while advising clients and guiding junior staff. The hybrid schedule requires at least three days in the office each week.

Requirements

Must have

  • BA/BS degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, finance, economics, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years experience in actuarial field with health and benefits consulting
  • Proven progress toward obtaining ASA designation
  • Client facing experience

Strongly preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in health benefits actuarial consulting

Nice to have

  • Strong programming skills in R and Python with experience writing reusable code for data manipulation, actuarial/financial modeling, and process automation
  • ASA credentialed
