Summer retirement actuarial internship in Hartford, Connecticut, supporting benefit consulting across defined benefit, defined contribution, and retiree healthcare plans. Over 10 weeks, you’ll analyze plan data, assist with valuations and filings, develop tools and models, and present project work to business leaders. The in-person role is designed for college students and may lead to return or full-time opportunities.

Requirements

Must have

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25
  • Must reside near or reliably commute to Hartford, CT (in-person internship)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship (no CPT/OPT)

Strongly preferred

  • Currently enrolled in a college/university bachelor's or master's program
  • Available for full 10-week program (June 2 – August 6, 2027)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving mindset
  • Preferred majors: Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related math-focused majors
  • Passage of one or more Society of Actuaries exams
  • Microsoft Office products including VBA and/or Python coding knowledge

Nice to have

  • At least 2 years of academic progress toward a bachelor's degree
  • Expected to graduate and be available for full-time employment by mid-2028
  • Comfortable working with large datasets
