Role Summary

Role type

Structured actuarial student programme

Closer to a structured student programme than a modelling-heavy role—the department placement and learning exposure matter more than depth in one specialty.

Summer actuarial internship in Boston, Massachusetts, running May–August 2027. You'll be placed in a pricing, valuation, modeling, risk management, asset-liability management, or experience analytics department, with process improvement and presentation work. The hybrid schedule is Tuesday–Thursday in the office and remote Monday and Friday.

Requirements

Must have

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline

Strongly preferred

  • Maintaining a strong GPA, demonstrating success in relevant coursework
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical team members
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities, with an innovative mindset and a capacity to grasp the 'big picture'
  • Highly motivated, results-driven self-starter, adept at working efficiently under tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with the Society of Actuaries (SOA) qualification process

Nice to have

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Programming skills
  • Relevant actuarial experience
  • Commitment towards FSA designations (e.g. passing at least one SOA exam)
