Reserving and reporting cycle leader
Closer to a reserving cycle role than a pure people-leadership role—the team mandate supports ownership of recurring technical and committee reporting.
Executive-level P&C reserving leadership role in Chicago, Illinois, with a hybrid work arrangement. The VP, Head of Reserving will own the quarterly US reserving process, oversee reserve assumptions and reporting, lead the US Reserving team, and coordinate with UK and Bermuda actuarial leaders.
Requirements
Must have
- A minimum 15 years of relevant actuarial experience
- At least 5 years of reserving experience in a leadership role
- FCAS designation for at least 7 years
Strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field
- Proven managerial experience and ability to train and develop junior people managers
- Proven track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high performing teams
- Extensive experience and knowledge of advanced actuarial techniques and standards and insurance operations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with executive presence
- Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and critical thinking
- Ability to balance multiple projects with minimal direction
- High attention to detail and strong collaboration skills
