VP, Reinsurance (P&C) based in La Jolla, CA. You will lead design, analysis, placement and administration of pro rata and excess-of-loss reinsurance across property and casualty lines, working closely with actuarial, underwriting, risk and finance. This executive role reports to the EVP, Ceded Reinsurance and requires strong broker relationships and strategic oversight of program-specific and portfolio reinsurance placements.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead design, analysis and placement of pro rata and excess-of-loss reinsurance
- Focus on property and casualty lines, with emphasis on casualty segments
- Report to EVP, Ceded Reinsurance and partner with actuarial and underwriting
- Location: La Jolla, CA (San Diego area); 25% travel expected
- Executive role requiring strong broker relationships and strategic influence
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Reinsurance program design and placement across casualty segments
- Property and casualty reinsurance experience
- Experience with pro rata and excess-of-loss treaties
- Proven broker and reinsurer relationship management
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree required
- 5+ years professional insurance industry experience
- Experience leading reinsurance program design and placements across casualty
- Strong relationships with reinsurance brokers and underwriters
- Executive presence with ability to influence C-level stakeholders
