Health consulting project team

Closer to a consulting project-team role than a modelling-heavy IC position because analysts contribute to client deliverables across varied health engagements.

Entry-level Health actuarial consulting role with Milliman’s Mountain Gulf Health Practice, based remotely from Denver. You’ll analyze health insurance data, perform actuarial calculations, develop models and software solutions, and support client deliverables across Commercial/ACA, Medicare, Behavioral Health, Risk Adjustment and Dental.

Requirements

Must have

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or another major with quantitative coursework
  • At least one or more Society of Actuaries exams passed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Strongly preferred

  • Solid understanding of basic actuarial concepts
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Some knowledge of a statistical analysis language (SAS, R, SQL, or Python)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong time management skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Client focused and results oriented

Nice to have

  • Past internship or work experience with an actuarial firm doing data analysis preferred
