Closer to an underwriting partner than a modelling-heavy IC because the ad stresses applying pricing analysis to business decisions and working closely with underwriting.
Entry-level P&C actuarial pricing role in The Hartford’s Global Specialty US Actuarial Pricing team in Hartford, Connecticut. You’ll support Financial Lines, including Professional Liability/E&O and Cyber, through trend analysis, pricing methodology development, profitability monitoring, and underwriting partnership. The role is hybrid, with three days per week in the Hartford office.
Requirements
Must have
- Bachelor's degree
- Actuarial exam path with at least 1 exam passed
- Proficiency in Excel
Strongly preferred
- Knowledge of actuarial pricing and reserving techniques
- General knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance operations
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Teamwork skills including ability to collaborate across teams
- Independently motivated; constantly looks for areas to add value
- Work in Hartford office 3 days a week (hybrid)

- Experience with R or Python
