Role type

Specialist in a large-carrier GL team

Closer to a big-carrier specialist than a reporting-cycle role: the scope spans several GL-related lines within a defined insurer function.

Associate P&C actuarial role in Hartford, Connecticut, supporting General Liability, Umbrella, and Excess business. You’ll monitor loss ratios and trends, contribute to annual planning, and support pricing initiatives while helping improve analytics and influence business decisions. The role is hybrid, with three office days each week.

Requirements

Must have

  • 1+ actuarial exams passed (pursuing ASA/FCAS)
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Hybrid work: 3 days/week in Hartford, CT office

Strongly preferred

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics or related field of study
  • Effective oral and written communications skills
  • Attention to detail with strong time management skills
  • Independently motivated, constantly looking for areas to add value
  • Teamwork skills including ability to collaborate across various teams

Nice to have

  • Experience with R or Python
  • Previous Property and Casualty Actuarial Experience
