Role type

Quarterly reserving and reporting

A reserving cycle role rather than a pricing partner: governance and financial-close work outweigh live deal support.

P&C reserving role in Zurich North America's Primary General Liability team, available in New York alongside Chicago, Schaumburg, and Toronto locations. You will perform quarterly premium and loss reserve analyses, support IFRS 17 financial close and governance, forecast loss ratios, and communicate recommendations to Actuarial, Finance, Underwriting, Claims, and Pricing. The role may be filled at Actuarial Analyst or Senior Actuarial Analyst level.

Requirements

Must have

  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree and 2+ years insurance experience OR Bachelor's degree with 3.0 GPA (no prior actuarial experience required) for Analyst level
  • Successful completion of 1+ actuarial exams for Analyst level
  • Successful completion of 5+ actuarial exams with 2+ years actuarial experience OR 3+ exams with 3+ years for Senior Analyst level
  • No visa sponsorship available

Nice to have

  • Dedication to Casualty Actuarial Societies' accreditation exam process with goal of obtaining both ACAS and FCAS
  • Previous actuarial internship or related experience
  • Ability to analyze data and offer insight to non-technical professionals
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and/or knowledge of statistical analysis software
