Role type

Quarterly reserving and reporting cycle

A reserving cycle role rather than a pricing partnership role—the recurring financial close and governance calendar is the clearest organising feature.

P&C reserving role in Zurich North America's Primary General Liability team, based preferably in Chicago or Schaumburg, with other office options. As an Actuarial Analyst or Senior Actuarial Analyst, you'll perform quarterly reserve analysis, support IFRS 17 financial close and forecasting, and communicate insights to Actuarial, Finance, Underwriting and Claims.

Requirements

Must have

  • No visa sponsorship available

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree with 3.0 cumulative GPA or equivalent (Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate degree and 2+ years technical/insurance experience)
  • Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams (for Actuarial Analyst level)
  • For Senior Actuarial Analyst: Successful completion of 5+ actuarial exams with 2+ years of actuarial experience
  • For Senior Actuarial Analyst: Successful completion of 3+ actuarial exams with 3+ years of actuarial experience

Nice to have

  • Previous actuarial internship or related experience
  • Successful completion of two or more actuarial exams
  • Dedication to the Casualty Actuarial Societies’ accreditation exam process with a goal of obtaining both ACAS and FCAS
  • Ability to analyze data and offer insight to non-technical professionals
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and/or knowledge of statistical analysis software
