A reserving cycle role rather than a capital strategy one—the recurring quarterly close and governance calendar define the work.

P&C reserving role in Zurich North America's Property Reserving team, based primarily in Schaumburg or Chicago, Illinois. You'll perform quarterly premium and loss reserve analyses for Crop and Surety, support IFRS 17 financial close and forecasting, and communicate recommendations to Actuarial, Finance, Underwriting, Claims, and Pricing. The role is available at Actuarial Analyst or Senior Actuarial Analyst level.

Requirements

Must have

Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams (Analyst level)
Successful completion of 5 or more actuarial exams (Sr. Analyst level, if no other experience)
Bachelors degree with 3.0 cumulative GPA or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree
No visa sponsorship available
2+ years of actuarial experience (Sr. Analyst level with 5 exams) OR 3+ years (with 3 exams)

Strongly preferred

Previous actuarial internship or related experience
Successful completion of two or more actuarial exams
Dedication to CAS accreditation process with goal of ACAS and FCAS
Ability to analyze data and offer insight to non-technical professionals
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office and/or statistical analysis software
