A data-science crossover rather than a pricing-underwriting partner role—the ad prioritizes model development and predictive methods over live deal support.

Senior P&C actuarial data science role with American Modern’s Predictive Analytics team in Arlington, Arizona. You’ll lead personal lines pricing model strategy for residential property and recreational products, developing predictive models, supporting rate filings, and influencing business decisions. The role is hybrid and requires an FCAS plus substantial predictive analytics experience.

Requirements

Must have

  • FCAS designation
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Strongly preferred

  • 6+ years of data science/predictive analytics experience in insurance or 8+ in another industry
  • Master's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Proficiency in R and Python programming languages
  • Deep understanding of GLMs and GBMs
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts (supervised/unsupervised, deep learning, NLP)
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
  • Experience in agile team environment (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Strong commitment to testing, validation, and continuous improvement of models
  • Proven experience with project management and prioritization
  • Ability to independently build models and statistical analyses
  • Effectively communicate results to business partners
  • Ability to manage projects and direct work of junior team members

Nice to have

  • Experience with Databricks or similar big data platforms
