Health actuarial internship with Sanford Health in Wisconsin, focused on medical claims, pricing, reserving, forecasting, and health plan performance. You’ll validate data, update models and reports, investigate emerging results, and present findings to actuarial and business partners. The role is primarily onsite and is designed for a quantitative undergraduate or graduate student pursuing an SOA credential.
Requirements
Must have
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, economics, finance, computer science, or another quantitative field
- Interest in the actuarial profession
- Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis
- Able to work full time during summer and breaks and part time during school year
Strongly preferred
- Currently pursuing an actuarial credential through the Society of Actuaries
- Completion of at least one actuarial examination
- Coursework, academic projects, employment, or internship experience involving data compilation, validation, analysis, modeling, reporting, or presentation
- Exposure to SQL, SAS, Python, VBA, Power BI, or similar tools
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem solving, collaboration, intellectual curiosity, written/verbal communication skills
