Life actuarial internship with MetLife’s Actuarial Resources team in Whippany, New Jersey. The structured 10-week program offers exposure to pricing, product development, reserves, modeling, financial analysis, asset-liability management, and investments, plus presentations to actuarial leaders. It is a hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in the office.
Requirements
Must have
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in actuarial science or quantitative field
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Strong Excel skills with pivot tables and advanced formulas
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
Strongly preferred
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Leadership experience and strong communication skills
- Interest in learning programming languages and data analysis tools
Nice to have
- Currently enrolled in a master's degree program
- Successful completion of one or more SOA exams
- Experience with Python, R, SQL, SAS, VBA or similar programming languages
- Familiarity with AI and emerging technologies
- Interest in pursuing an actuarial career as demonstrated by exams, coursework, internships
