Client-facing Medicaid actuarial consultant

Closer to client-facing consulting than a carrier pricing specialist because service delivery, client contact, recommendations, and proposal support are explicit.

Manager-level Health actuarial consulting role in Phoenix, supporting state Medicaid programs through the Government Human Services Consulting practice. You’ll lead client engagements, evaluate plans and pricing, review complex analyses, guide junior staff, and support growth across Medicaid projects. The hybrid schedule requires at least three days per week in the local office or with clients.

Requirements

Must have

  • 10+ years of health actuarial experience
  • 3+ years of Medicaid leadership actuarial experience
  • Actuarial credentials (ASA, FSA, or MAAA)
  • BA/BS degree

Strongly preferred

  • Ability to handle client and project management in a demanding environment with tight deadlines

Nice to have

  • Medicaid actuarial experience across multiple states, programs, insurers, or federal agencies
  • Actuarial consulting experience
  • Experience leading large teams and/or large complex projects
  • Experience with health plan analysis or capitated rate development
