Client-facing government healthcare consultant

Closer to consulting client delivery than an underwriting partnership role because the work spans government Medicaid engagements rather than one internal insurance portfolio.

Manager-level Health actuarial consulting role in Seattle's Government Human Services Consulting team. You will lead Medicaid client engagements, evaluate plan designs and costs, review pricing models, and guide junior staff while managing client relationships. The role is hybrid, with at least three days per week in the local office or onsite with clients.

Requirements

Strongly preferred

BA/BS degree
10+ years health actuarial experience
3+ years of Medicaid leadership actuarial experience
Actuarial credentials (ASA, FSA, or MAAA)
Ability to handle client and project management in demanding environment with tight deadlines

Nice to have

Medicaid actuarial experience spanning multiple states, programs, health insurers, or Federal agencies
Actuarial consulting experience
Experience leading large teams and/or large, complex projects
Experience related to health plan analysis or capitated rate development
