Client-facing government healthcare consultant
Closer to client-facing consulting than a carrier specialist role—the deciding factor is ownership of external engagements, recommendations, and proposal support.
Manager-level Health actuarial consulting role in Minneapolis supporting state Medicaid programs. You will lead client engagements, perform financial and pricing analyses, support plan design and capitated rate work, review junior staff output, and help develop client business. The role is hybrid, with at least three days per week in the local office or onsite with clients.
Requirements
Strongly preferred
- BA/BS degree
- 10+ years health actuarial experience
- 3+ years of Medicaid leadership actuarial experience
- Actuarial credentials (ASA, FSA, or MAAA)
- Ability to handle client and project management in a demanding work environment with tight deadlines
Nice to have
- Medicaid actuarial experience spanning multiple states, programs, health insurers, or Federal agencies
- Actuarial consulting experience
- Experience leading large teams and/or large, complex projects
- Experience related to health plan analysis or capitated rate development
