Pricing partner to underwriting

Closer to an underwriting partner than a modelling-heavy IC because live large-account and deal-level pricing are central to the role.

Manager-level P&C pricing role in New York City, focused on multiline commercial business including auto and general liability. You’ll build sophisticated pricing models, support large-account and loss-rated decisions, guide portfolio strategy, manage a small team, and present recommendations to senior leadership. The role is office-based and pays $150,000-$190,000, with possible discretionary incentive compensation.

Requirements

Must have

  • Minimum ACAS designation
  • At least 7 years of actuarial experience

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Stats or related quantitative field
  • 10+ years of actuarial experience strongly preferred
  • Extensive experience in auto, general liability and other commercial P&C lines
  • Experience with rate filings and DOI interactions
  • Significant large account and loss-rated pricing experience
  • Experience managing small teams (1-3 direct reports)
  • Experience building pricing models using GLM or comparable techniques
  • Strong R and SQL programming skills
  • Proficiency with actuarial/statistical software and data visualization
  • Ability to communicate actuarial results to non-technical audiences
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master's) is a plus
