Closer to a reserving and reporting cycle role than a capital strategy role—the recurring IBNR, financial close, budgeting, and regulatory deadlines define the operating rhythm.

Manager-level Health actuarial role in Portland, Oregon, working remotely for a managed-care insurer serving Medicaid and Medicare. You will lead IBNR and other liability estimates, cost and utilization analysis, forecasting, regulatory reporting, and ROI evaluation while managing an actuarial team and partnering with finance and business leaders.

Requirements

Must have

Minimum 5 years' experience in actuarial services related to health care
Work experience in health insurance
ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) designation

Strongly preferred

Minimum 2 years supervisory experience, or minimum 1 year plus completion of leadership program
Experience with Medicaid and Medicare
Experience estimating IBNR, risk adjustment transfers, and other health care liabilities and assets
Experience analyzing health care cost and utilization data
Proficient with SAS, SQL, and/or R
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to develop and maintain Tableau dashboards
Extensive knowledge of managed care and the Oregon Health Plan

Nice to have

FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) designation
