Reserving and reporting cycle manager
Closer to a reserving and reporting cycle role than a capital strategy role, because the ad emphasizes IBNR, financial reporting, forecasting, and regulatory deadlines rather than ORSA or capital work.
Manager-level Health actuarial role with CareOregon’s Actuarial Services team, working remotely from Manchester Township, Indiana. You’ll lead IBNR and health care liability estimates, cost and utilization analysis, trend forecasting, regulatory reporting, and ROI modeling across Medicaid and Medicare business. The role also manages an actuarial team and partners with finance and organizational leaders.
Requirements
Must have
- Minimum 5 years of experience in actuarial services related to health care
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience (or 1 year with Aspiring Leaders Program)
- Work from home
Strongly preferred
- Proficiency with SAS, SQL, and/or R
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of managed care and the Oregon Health Plan
- Experience with Medicaid and Medicare
- Experience estimating IBNR, risk adjustment transfers, and other health care liabilities and assets
- Experience analyzing health care cost and utilization data
- Ability to develop and maintain Tableau dashboards
Nice to have
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
